Ritual Unions bridal dresses
The Ritual Unions team consists of wedding industry and PR expert Karolina Woznicka, and couture designer and creative director Karin Brettmeister. Karolina is best known for her blog Whitepick.de, as well as her successful bridal editorials and international campaigns as a stylist. Karin has worked for notable couture brands such as Marchesa and J. Mendel, with strong emphasis on design and patternmaking. Karin and Karo found themselves in Berlin at the beginning of 2017, which marked the starting point of their brand Ritual Unions.
The looks from Ritual Unions’ limited collection are available to order Made-to-Measure, constructed by hand in our Berlin studio. We use the highest quality of silk, lace and tulle from Germany, Spain, France and Italy. Fair conditions and sustainability is of great importance to us as we prefer slow, organic growth and a close and personal collaboration with our partners and customers. Looks may also be found in exclusively selected boutiques.
The inspiration of the current collection is the complexity of emotions. Oxytocin is the hormone distributed in the brain when experiencing love. This organic process is reflected in three-dimensional and symmetrically placed lace appliqués, as well as in feminine silhouettes with a mystic and primal combination of materials. The playful-romance is intentionally interrupted by the designer through modern contrasts like bondage accessories, as well as constructed, geometrical cuts. We also find a fresh take on the corset in a very light and discreet form, made of embroidered tulle with visible boning. Vintage inspired elements like glove-like sleeves, pin tucks and lace scallops complete the overall visual of the collection.
Ritual Unions embodies authenticity in its creations, steering away from outmoded princess-like silhouettes, for a contemporary aesthetic with high-level craftsmanship. We breathe a certain soul into the designs, with subtle messages of rebellion, irony and love in their lines and details. Beauty takes many forms in life, and Ritual Unions finds it through profound inspirations such as mysticism, psyche and society. What does marriage actually mean in this day and age? As complex as the answer to this question is, is also the wearer of elaborate robes with character.
